Chief Curator

Fan Di’an

Fan Di’an is the President of China Central Academy of Fine Arts. He is the chairman of China Artists Association, the chairman of Beijing Artists Association，and the deputy director of Art Education Committee at Ministry of Education. Fan has long been interested in twentieth-century Chinese art, contemporary art criticism, curating and museology. He has published numerous essays on art and art criticism, curated hundreds of academic exhibitions that reflected the timely progressions and developments of Chinese art.

Lu Peng

Art historian, art critic and curator. He currently works at the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute as professor and master’s degree supervisor, and as a professor in the Macau University of Science and Technology. He has been associate secretary-general of the Sichuan Theatre Association, editor-in-chief of Art-Market magazine, art chair of the Guangzhou Biennale, art and humanities associate professor at the China Academy of Art, director of the Museum of Contemporary Art Chengdu, art director of the Yinchuan Museum of Contemporary Art and head of L-Art University.

Qiu Zhijie
Dean of the School of Experimental Art of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, vice president of the Institute of Sciences and Arts of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, deputy director of the Experimental Art Committee of the Chinese Artists Association, instructor of the Institute of Art and Social Thought of the China Academy of Art, invited artist of the Institute of Contemporary Chinese Art of Chinese National Academy of Arts, and member of the Experimental Art Committee of the Chinese Artists Association.
Zhang Zikang
Zhang Zikang is a professor and Ph.D supervisor at Central Academy of Fine Arts; he is the director of Central Academy of Fine Arts Art Museum, the chief editor of magazine Art Museum, and the deputy dean of Art and Technology Research Institute of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He is a member of the council of China Artists Association, the deputy director of the Experimental Art Committee of China Artists Association, the deputy director of Art Museum Special Committee of Chinese Museums Association, and the president of National Higher Education Art Museum Association.
Wang Chunchen
PhD in History of Fine Arts. He is currently a professor and PhD supervisor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and acts as the associate director of the Art Museum at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. In 2013 he was a curator at the China Pavilion in the 55th Venice Biennale and in 2012 was invited to curate an exhibition at the Michigan State University Broad Art Museum. He is the recipient of various art awards including the Chinese Contemporary Art Award.
Yang Wei
Yang Wei is a professor at Hunan Normal University Fine Art Academy, the Secretary General of the Annual Summit of Chinese Art Critics, and a member of Curation Committee of Chinese Artists Association. He received the special service award for his contribution to the development of Songzhuang’s art academics by Beijing Sunshine International Art Museum in 2017, the best art criticism of year award from Sculpture in 2019, and the outstanding curator award from Harmo—Power: 2020 Jinan Biennale in 2021.
Ji Shaofeng
Ji Shaofeng is the director of Hubei Museum of Art, the rotating president of the fourteenth Annual Summit of Chinese Art Critics, the Vice Secretary General of China Sculpture Institute, and State Council Special Government Allowance Expert. His curatorial work includes the double feature exhibition of Zhou shaohua and Markus Lüpertz, which was named the annual out- standing program of national art museums in 2017, and Crossover: A Dialog between the Chinese School of Hubei and the New Italian Art Scene, which was awarded the only“special service award of curation and organization”and“the best curation”award.
FANG Zhenning
Visiting Professor of School of Design and School of Architecture at Central Academy of Fine Arts, curator of the Chinese Pavilion of the 13th Venice Architecture Biennale, Member of Curatorial Art Committee of China Artists Association and Beijing Artists Association. Member of Academic Committee of Architectural Media (ASC) of China Architecture Society. His book Architectural China 1000 (2000-2015) won the third prize of “Outstanding Book Award” of China Architecture Industry Press in 2015; his project “Surfers in China” won the “Excellent Project” of Beijing International Design Week 2014; won the “Best Critic Award 2010” by the Chinese edition of Surface.
Han Tao
Professor of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, PhD supervisor of the School of Architecture, vice president of the School of Design. Secretary General of the Interior Design Teaching Working Committee of the Teaching Instruction Commit- tee of Architecture in Colleges and Universities, Ministry of Education (2019- ). Visiting Scholar of School of Architecture, Urban and Historic Preservation at Columbia University, New York (2012-2013). In 2020, his theoretical research project “Study on the ‘Ternary Device’ of Consumer Space” was awarded the post-grant project of National Social Science Foundation; in 2018, his theoretical research project“Grand Chang’an Avenue Plan: Spatial Politics, Technological Governance and Urban and Rural Projection of a Superscale Infrastructure” was invited to participate in “Infrastructure: Spatial Foundation of Community”(Shanghai OCAT).
Wu Hongliang
President of Beijing Art Academy, vice chairman of Beijing Artists Association, vice director and sec- retary general of Curatorial Committee of China Artists Association. He served as the curator of “The Truthful Being of Mysterious Orient – Cognitive Reason in Qi Baishi’s Arts from China in Greece” (2019), “The Wonderful Creation of Nature – Yu Feian’s Exhibition of Ink Paintings” (2019), “Blooming Flowers and a Good Year – Qi Baishi’s Selected Artworks Exhibition” (2020), and he is also the director of the Planning Committee of Global Public Art Solicitation for Beijing Winter Olympic Games.
Wang Shaoqiang
Director of Guangdong Museum of Art, professor, doctoral tutor, expert enjoying special allowance from the State Council, concurrently serving as director of the Chinese Artists Association, vice chairman of the Guangdong Artists Association, member of the Steering Committee of Higher Education Ministry of Education, member of the Curatorial Committee and Academic Committee of the Chinese Artists Association, member of the National Art Museum Professional Committee. Researcher and doctoral supervisor of the Chinese Academy of Art, professor and master supervisor of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, professor and doctoral supervisor of Macau University of Science and Technology of Arts.
He Guiyan
He Guiyan is a Doctor of Fine Arts, and a professor at the School of Arts and Humanities of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute; he is the director of the Art Museum of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, and the director of the Research Center of Contemporary Art of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute. He has curated 2013 Datong International Sculpture Biennial, By The Name of Dailiness Daily Discourse and Concept Generation in Contemporary Chinese Art, Hetero Entity: Myths-Narration-Imagination in Museum of Contemporary Art, Utopia of Form Expression and Cultural Concepts of Form in Contemporary Chinese Art, Social Theater - The 4th Chongqing Biennale for Young Artists, and cocurated People·History Exhibition of Studies of Chinese Art of the 20th Century, A Confrontation of Ideals -2nd Anren Biennale.
Jeffery Shaw
Foundation member of the London Artist Placement Group (1966-1989) and the Amsterdam Eventstructure Research Group (1969-1979), founding director of the Institute for Visual Media at the ZKM Center for Art and Media, Karlsruhe, Germany（1991）, dean of the School of Creative Media, City University Hong Kong（2009）. Recipient of L’Immagine Elettronica and Lifetime Achievement Award, Montreal Art and Technology Association, Canada（2014）.
Ji Yujie
Director/supervisor of design department of Art Museum of Central Academy of Fine Arts, Ph.D., associate researcher and design consultant of the Virtual Gallery Lab in the Art Museum of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. She is mainly engaged in exhibition design, contemporary design curation research and exhibition curation. She has independently curated The Exhibition of Young Artists: Trans- forming—The Six Directions(2019); She also participated in the curation of Material Tales The Life of Things (2021), The Endless Life—The Narrative of the Yellow River (2020) and Joint Exhibition of the BRICS of the14th Curitiba International Biennale of Contemporary Art: Transform- ative Creation Chinese Contemporary Art Thematic Exhibition(2019). Published monographs: Change and Trend: A Curatorial Study of Design Exhibitions since the 1970s (2020). Published translation: Creativity and Early Childhood Art (2020).
Zhou Bo
Ph.D., associate professor at School of Design of Central Academy of Fine Arts, where his main fields of research are history of modern design, art history and visual culture. He has published three monographs, including History of Modern Design Ethics (2014) and History of Design Drawings of Modern Chinese Characters (2018); and translated five books, including Vision in Motion (2016) and Design for the Real World (2013, 2020). He served as the curator for many important art and design exhibitions, such as Radical Patterns: The Birth of Modern Chinese Typography (2016) and Art for New China (2019). He also presided over the major project of Art of the National Social Science Fund A Study on the Design History of New China. He is the recipient of the 2020 Eighth Education Department Higher Education Research Awards for Excellent Achievement and Youth Achievement, as well as the 2014 Huo Yingdong Education Foundation Award for Young Terchers in Higher Education.
Xue Jiang
PhD of exhibition planning and visual communication at Central Academy of Fine Arts. Participated in and planned the “Future Global Education Plan Activation innovation Forum”, “Elsewhere and Here——Overseas Chinese Art Sample Exhibition”, “UNESCO – International Ceramic Art Exchange & Doucment Exhibition”, “Succession of Teachings American Master of West- ern photography Bob Kolbrene’s Exhibition of Individual Artworks”, “Focus – American Contemporary Youth Photography Exhibition”, “Virtue – Exhibition of artworks by Jamie Gordon, a famous modern American female photographer”.
Jia Yunbo
Young curator, PhD student in exhibition planning and visual communication at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Participated in and planned The Endless Life - The Narrative of the Yellow River, EAST Season, Macao International Art Biennale 2021 - Advance and Retreat of Globalization, Reciprocal Enlightenment - The 3rd Experi- mental Art Document Exhibition, Art and Design Education FutureLab at Shanghai West Bund Art Center.
Li Keke
Li Keke is a Ph.D candidate in exhibition planning and visual communication at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, curatorial researcher in the Contemporary Art Department at The Dallas Museum of Art, cuan assistant researcher at the Management Case Research Center of Peking University, and once worked in the Academic Exhibition Department of Beijing Minsheng Art Museum. Li has participated in and planned The Endless Life - The Narrative of the Yellow River, The Encounter with There-Being - The Solo Exhibition of Pang Maokun’s Artworks, New Ink Art in China - 1978-2018, Language of Photography, Permanence and Impermanence - New Works by Zhang Dali,The Eye and the Mind - New Interventions in Contemporary Indian Art.
